Receiving the check

 On Oct. 16, 2010 Teresa Hoyle, representing People's Trust and Savings Bank of Rippey, presented the Washington Winners 4-H Club a check for $100 for their community service of providing litter pick up along Hwy 144 by Rippey. Accepting the check are members of the club: Katlynn Gannon, Bryce Hoyle, Eli Muir, Tom Gannon, C. J. Muir, Wes Tipton, Dylan Fouch, Harry Johnston and Sean Kenan.

J. Muir, Dylan Fouch and Schyler Bardole. On Saturday Oct. 2, 2010, several members of the Washington Winners 4-H Club participated in their annual "Feed the Farmers" community service project. They prepared sack lunches for the farmers and staff at Heartland CO-OP in Rippey, serving approximately 75 lunches. The leaders of the club are Sarah Borgeson and Kelley Muir.


The Washington Winners 4-H Club met for their regular meeting on January 9, 2011. The Washington Winners 4-H Club met Jan. 9 at Breadeaux Pizza in Perry, for its regular meeting. Reminders were given for upcoming dates for beef weigh-in and FSQA. Community service projects for the year will be ditch pick-up and cleaning up the Old Rippey Cemetery. Valentine cookie plates will be distributed to local elderly at the next meeting. It was decided to get hew club T-shirts this year. Ideas and pricing will be discussed next month. Presentations were given by Sean Kenan and Schyler Bardole. Because of last month's bad weather, a pizza party and Christmas gift exchange was held at the end of the meeting. Washington Winners
    The Washington Winners 4-H club held its regular meeting Feb. 13. 2011.  Final decisions were made on the new club T-shirts and orders were taken.  Reminders were given about FSQA, swine weigh-in, the baby-sitting class, and deadlines for junior camp and livestock ID’s.
    It was decided to enter the annual basketball tournament hosted by the Greenbrier club.
    A workshop will be held for any members who would like help with record books.
    Three members gave presentations.  Harrison Johnston told about a recent trip to Bauer Built Manufacturing in Paton.  Kane Borgeson presented his home improvement project of silverware made with deer antlers.  Tom Gannon told about identifying pigs by ear notching.
    After the meeting, 25 Valentine plates were assembled and delivered to local elderly residents.  Sean Kenan, reporter.


The Washington Winners 4-H club held its regular meeting March 6, 2011.
The logo for the new T-shirts was picked. A record book workshop will be held at the Rippey Public Library April 10, at 10 a. m. Materials will be available to help members get started. The club will serve the Lions Club mother-daughter banquet on April 7.
C. J. Muir gave a presentation about selecting bulls for breeding and Dylan Fouch talked about hunters’ safety class.

The October meeting of the Washington Winners 4-H club was held Saturday, Oct. 6. The club met in Rippey and elected officers for the upcoming year. After the business meeting, the club divided into groups to do highway clean-up south of Rippey. The next meeting will be on Sunday, Nov. 4 and will be the family potluck followed by installation of officers.

The November meeting of the Washington Winners 4-H club was held on Sunday, Nov. 4. The club had the annual potluck and also installed officers. The following officers were installed: president, Sean Kenan; vice president, Eli Muir; treasurer, Bryce Hoyle; secretary, Brandon Hoyle; photographer/reporter, Paige Heaning and Kara Betts; recreation, Wes Tipton.  New 4-H members are: Ashlyn Frederick, Kayla Muir, Lilly Muir, Tyson Blanchfield, Maggie St Clair, Kaleb Hoyle, Kaylee Rankin, and Lanie Fish. New club members are: Cael Fisher, Clint Dennhardt, Kara Betts, and Cole Betts.  The next meeting will be held on Sunday, Dec. 9.
   
    A meeting of the Washington Winners 4-H club was held on Sunday, Dec. 9. The club met at Shopko in Perry to shop for the Toys for Tots program. After, the club went to the Perry Rec. Center for the Christmas party. The next club meeting will be held on Sunday, Jan. 6.
