Funeral services were held Sunday, November 27. 2004 at the
Rippey United Methodist Church in Rippey for Lucille
Arbutice Lansman. Services were conducted by Rev. Missy
Brown. Special music was provided by The Lansman Band with congregational
singing. Interment was in the Rippey Cemetery. Arrangements were made by
Hastings Funeral Home of Perry and Jefferson.
Lucille Arbutice Blanchard Lansman, daughter of Russell Blanchard and Carrie
Christensen Blanchard, was born December 30, 1925 in Council Bluffs, Iowa
and died November 22, 2004 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City,
Iowa at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 22 days.
Lucille graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1944 and continued with
her education receiving her teaching certificate. On February 1, 1947, Lucille
was united in marriage to Wilfred Lansman. They were the parents of four
children, Kathileen, Wilfred Jr. , Chris and Philip. Lucille and Wilfred
lived in the Coon Rapids area and Guthrie Center until making their home
in the Rippey area in 1955. While Wilfred was farming, Lucille enjoyed her
job as head cook with East Greene Community Schools from 1965 until 1994.
She also worked for Priebes and The Arcade Cafe.
Lucille and Wilfred loved music, singing and dancing. They were a part of
The Lansman Band performing for nine different nursing homes. For the past
fourteen years, they were hosts to the Country Music Jamboree in Yale, every
second Saturday night. The couple also traveled to Minnesota yearly to go
fishing. Lucille was a member of the Rippey United Methodist Church, Order
of the Eastern Star and GAB Club.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters; Sophia Hines,
Mary Durbin and Leila Thede. She is survived by her husband Wilfred Lansman.

Lansman Jr. and his wife Susan of Rippey; Chris Lansman and his wife Marilyn
of Grand Junction and Philip Lansman and his wife Teresa of Maui, Hawaii;
eight grandchildren: Monica Young and her husband Wilmer Noganosh, Melissa
Young, David Lansman and his wife Paige, Dean Lansman and his wife Heather,
Chad Lansman, Tracey Lansman, Natalie Lansman and Lucas Lansman; six great
grandchildren: Allison, Dylan, Morgan, Grason, Logan and Kasha Lansman;
brothers; Russell Blanchard and his wife Lillian of Sioux Falls, South Dakota
and Arden Blanchard of Nelson, NB, sister Shirley Williams of Leadville,
CO. brothers in law, Richard Lansman and his wife Marjorie or Perry and
Gerald Lansman of his wife Jean of Exira, many other relatives and a host
of friends.
