Carl Edward Killam, 61, of East
Moline, IL. died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, following a courageous battle with
cancer. He passed in the presence of friends and family.
Services were held Friday, May 21 at Wildwood Baptist Church, East Moline.
Burial was at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, with military honors
conducted by East Moline American Legion Post 227. In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be made to the Carl Killam Business Scholarship or Wildwood Baptist
Church.
He was born February, 4, 1943 in Rippey , IA, son of Wilton Killam and Cleone
(Grow) Killam. He married his loving wife, Kathleen Heater on November 25,
1967.
Carl taught at United Township High School for 36 years. He was a U.S. Army
Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Carl was an involved member of Wildwood Baptist Church and the East Moline
Rotary Club. He enjoyed golfing and supporting both the Iowa Hawkeyes and
UTHS Panthers.
Survivors include many family and friends, his wife, Kathleen; brother and
sister in law, Ken and Karen of Capron IL. ; sons and daughter in law, Kai
and Christa, East Moline, and Kris of St. Louis, MO. and a perfect grandson,
Caden Edward Killam.
