Library News

State of Emergency by Patrick Buchanan was given to the Rippey Library with the memorial funds donated by those wishing to remember Sonny McElheney. Donna McElheney selected this publication as she fondly recalls her husband’s love of history along with being knowledgeable about policy issues.

Pat Buchanan, the author, is sounding the alarm regarding the “third world invasion” and the “conquest of America”. He charges…”the leaders in Washington lack the political will to uphold the law”.

He recommends a sweeping immigration reform and improved border security, which he contends if not followed by George W. Bush, this President’s legacy will be to have lost America!

North American Birdfeeder Guide, by Robert Buton and Stephen Kress, was selected by the family of Norma Schlicht. Norma will be remembered by many as one who loved to watch birds, and learn more about birds.

This book is filled with colored pictures, and descriptive narrative about the habitat, eating preferences, and location of numerous species within the U.S. Most of the birds are shown on their nests, feeding their newborns.

There are informative sections about planting trees, and shrubs, to bring additional birds to your yard.

Buy, Keep or Sell? by Judith Miller is a new book, described as an insider’s guide to identifying trash, treasure or tomorrow’s antiques. It is 351 pages of advice about what is hot and what will be in the future. In addition there is specific information about attending auctions and flea markets, and avoiding “auction fever”.

Numerous children’s videos have recently been donated, and 6 new DVD’s have been purchased including: The Perfect Man, A Beautiful Mind, 50 First Dates, The Magnificent Seven, It Could Happen to You, and Good Boy.
